Where to Get the Best Servers?

Hey everyone, i am in need of a unmetered bandwidth dedicated colocated server. does anyone have any good suggestions of a reliable company i can get it from besides ev1servers.net?

Hmm, well The Planet isn’t unmetered, but you get 2000 GB bandwidth, and I have been using them for around 8 months and have been very impressed.

how many megabits are you looking for? 10? 100? How about your budget for it? Any prefered location?

i am looing for 10. budget.. well i would like the cheapest and the best. no perfered location.

LayeredTech offers cheap servers. But you will need to know how to manage a server. Others like steadfastnetworks, servermatrix. each of them can have different management plans, contact them for more information

I recommend the planet too, have a ded from hostgator.com at their facility, liquidweb.com has a good rep too. Do you really need more then 1,000 GB of bandwidth?

www.servermatrix.com - the unmetered branch of The Planet. I switched to using them after a string of bad providors, and they’ve been great.

if I remember correctly, SM is using Cogent for unmetered servers, so the price can be lower

10Mbit/s on 95th Percentile for most people actually works out at 2000GB of transfer. On a capped connection, you might be lucky and manage 2500GB, but equally you could be unlucky and not even get that. You can’t run a capped connection at the full rate, as you’ll encounter TCP congestion control, which is going to cause horribly variable performance for anyone downloading.

Then you’re going to need a server on at least a 20Mbit/s connection IMHO, if you want 5000GB outgoing.

you need at least 300$/mo. for that.

hm.. i’m payin like 400 for a 2000gb dual xeon already.
