Server Problems

I need some advice / help .. Heres the deal.. every server i go on - i crash - every week it seems im upgrading or switching servers.

The host companies always have the same answer ” your sites need to be optimized ” ” your using to much resources ” ” We rebooted the server test it ”

I had 3 different designers / programmers look in to it and i have been told that the sites are fine and if they need repairs i let them repair what ever the problems are .

Rite now i have 2 dedicated servers and a reseller account the bills are killing me - I tried to separate the data bases pictures files etc. on separate servers since my former hosting company contract doesn’t expire till the 10th i gave it a shot … And this is not working.

Since all these problems started about 6 weeks ago i have sold 5 websites to incur these server, server setup, and repair fees, slowly but surely this problem is putting me out of business.

This is what i’m on now
Dual Xeon 3.0Ghz
This plan includes :

some advice please

This does not sound right. Do you have a managed server? You really do not need two servers for only 5 websites unless they have A LOT of traffic or heavy database usage.

Both servers keep crashing or just one of them?

i have about 15 active sites they get heavy traffic( sold 5 ) - i had everything on one server.. it kept crashing .. i purchased another ds with a diffrent company — twice as powerful — crashed that one — i also have another vps crashed that - so i seperated the dbs on to all 3 servers till my contracts are up to see if that worked,, and nothing same ol same ol.. now i’m getting emails from the hosting co that i’m exceeding bandwith and they suspended 3 of my sites.

Can you share some details regarding the types of sites you have, scripts you’re using, amount of page views you get, number of simultaneous users online, data transfer used?

Maybe you really have too much traffic. Success is not always a bliss.

You can have a very powerful server, but without it being managed by the DC or having your own experienced admin it will face trouble, especially with busy sites like the ones you’re talking about..my advice is to either get a managed server or get your hands on an experienced admin.

arcade - image captioning -image hosting- ms resource -restaurant directory -poker - dating - picture rating - sites of that nature.

its hard to get an accurate # for the page views - suo - and data because the sats are on 3 diffrent servers now -

But at the peek when they were all on the same server the sites were getting a combined 35 - 40 uniques a day - and i’m not sure where to find the stats for simultaneous users online and data transfers.

It seems hard to believe that 40 visitors per day would require the power of 3 servers, unless they’re bots or something. Either these stats are too old, or inacurate, or… I don’t know.

sorry that was 40,000

1. Describe in detail the processes running at the time of crash(es)?

2. Average server load at ttime of crashes?

3. How often are the crashes occurring?

4. How much bandwidth have you burned on the server you are getting notices for?

Often these issues are resolved with more RAM. However you really need a fully managed and proactively monitored server to get to the crux of the matter. Hiring a third party sys administor for this level of troubleshooting will not be cost effective.

Ok this is what i just ordered.. i hope it does the job.
