Need Good Reliable Host

I need a hosting company that is reliable, that I can call, that can actually give me answers, that actually answer the phone. I need to host more than one domain, I need to host multiple domains and maybe find a company that has a reseller program. Need to have decient webmail along w/ cpanels etc etc, all the bells and whistles. My client’s websites need new homes. If anyone knows of any companies or has any suggestiong please let me know. Thank you!

The most important we need to suggest a host is to know what your technical needs are. Do you need Apache or Microsoft support? Do you need database support? If so what database format? What other things must the host support?

yes yes and yes.. I need mysql for databases. Sorry for not being that informative, still kind of mad at this company im sick of my mail being down and people calling me cause there stuff is getting bounced back…

also I need to host individual domains on the same account, not unlimited subdomains I need individual domains for stats and seo purposes, I am not looking for domain pointers I am looking for individual domains, that I can manage.

I personally have been using Pair Networks (http://Pair.com) for a number of years and am very happy with them. They aren’t the cheapest host in the world, but they are extremely reliable and very responsive. They only offer Apache solutions with MySQL running on FreeBSD.

Hmm… so you’re looking for a CPanel host?
I’m confused. Would addon domains fit your needs, or you actually need a reseller account?

doesnt have to have cpanel just has to have some type of control panel. I can add on a domain as long as its an actual domain and not a subdomain that has a pointer.

Ort take a look at Media Temple. They are a very reputable and reliable host. I can vouch for this as they host my site(s).

use them also. Go to their site and look ath the setup they have, it’s most impressive. They seem to respond immediately to any issues that arise. They sent me a lengthy email when the power went out in CA about what happened and what they were doing. They seem faster than others, tho I have nothing to prove it.

I’m on the cheapy shared thing and I still get 5 databases I htink.

what about hostgator?

Based on my experience with them, HG is, to quote the thread’s title, a “good reliable host”.

i’ve heard various reviews of hostgator…some good, some bad…but not every host will be perfect for you.

i myself have servers with the new york noc www.thenynoc.com . they just added shared and reseller plans a short while ago. you may want to check them out. so far i’ve had 100% uptime on my servers for the past 5-6 months that ive been with them. i would recommend them.

glad to hear a positive review, what is your domain with them just to verify?

I heard many good things about Lunar Pages.
Never used it so far I as have my own dedicated server, but I have friends who have websites hosted there, and no complaints.

My suggestion: stay away from “unmetered bandwitdh” or “unlimited bandwith” as nothing is unlimited in universe, and you can learn that from their TOS or later when they will close your site because you take too much resources.
