Dedicated Server with Unlimited Bandwith

I happen to stumble uppon www.fasthost.co.uk, They offer dedicated servers with unlimited banwith and transfers for £50 a month.

This looks really great but im looking for something cheaper but it must have unlimited bandwith and transfer aswell.

Does anyone know of a place that offer a better deal?

Your post sounds promotional. Anyway, I am looking for a dedecated solution and it seems their offers are really great. i am just wondering how can they do that so cheap.

If there’s no catch in their service, I may go with them.

I have nothing to do with fasthost, i just came uppon their website. The only thing i dont like about it is that it doesn’t come with cpanel, apanche….. etc installed.

For me knowing nothing about the installation processand addons on a server will be like a breast without nippel…….. pointless

Now, if someone know of a dedicated server with all the features of a hosting account and unlimited bandwith and transfer then please let us know, it is out there.

well, thePlanet is offering something called unmetered, if I remember well, but that would be well above your price.

I have just heard that FH is a 1&1 company and their support system is very bad … don’t have any first hand experience though.

Unlimited bandwidth is false advertising.

I looked at the fasthosts site and they did offer “unlimited bandwidth” on a 512k pipe, if you ran that pipe at max for a month it would only equate to 160gb per month. Now they are offering a free upgrade to a 10mbit pipe (3.3tb/month) when they used to charge £540 per month for a 1mbit pipe?

Also their prices per pipe are all over the place. £540 for a 1mbit connection, £480 for a 2mbit connection?

If they really do offer a 10mbit uplink (on a 10mbit port) then it is either crap bandwidth (cogent) or it is a shared pipe.

If you look for a 10mbit connection to colo a server at your looking at approx ($110 per mbit) so $1100 for a full 10mbit pipe of quality tier 1 bandwidth.

Go to the likes of layeredtech.com and see what they charge for 3.3tb bandwidth and see if you can figure out how fasthosts offer this for £50.

Unlimited is not possible but unmetered is possible cos bandwidth is a commodity that someone needs to pay for eventually. The term unlimited is only a marketing strategy go through the TOS of companies offering unlimited bandwidth and you will find some restrictions after all nothing in the world is unlimited.
