Anyone know a good dedicated server with 100Mbps unmetered, with something lower than $200/month?

Assuming you want a 100mbps port and not a 100mbps of bandwidth, how much bandwidth did you want to be capped at?

isn’t 100Mbps bandwidth like 2500 usd ?

Anyone know any cheap windows dedicated server with asp support and ms sql database ?

I want a server with unmetered traffic with a 100Mbps port. Considering it is unmetered, the bandwidth is whatever the port can take 24/7. I’ve found a good 10Mbps solution (that is 3500GB~mo), I need more, but before buying it, I need to know if a 100Mbps can also be found without spending more than $200

All unmetered solutions will be capped in some fashion. The 10mbps solution you found for $200 bucks is capped at 10mbps and may also be on a 10mbps port. Furthermore you will not get 3500GB’s out of it. You’ll be lucky to get 3,000GB out of it. Why would you think that you could find 10x that much bandwidth for the same price?

because I havent search that much. all i get is fake companies or ****ty ones.
do you think is a good deal? i dont want to waste $200 on a slow server, if I can get something faster. thanks

You have’nt given us enough information to speculate on how good the deal is. Minimally we would need to know:

- your server adminstration skill level
- which DC the server is in
- whether the server is managed, unmanaged and their definition of the same.
- the server’s hardware eg: RAM, CPU, hard drive, port speed, etc.
- if the bandwidth is Cogent or Tier1
- how many people you will be sharing this connection with …

I doubt you’ll find a 100mbps for less than $1,000. In fact, I think it’s going to be a lot more.

Just in case y’all think your bandwidth is too expensive, I’m hard pressed to get bandwidth for $1000/mbps out here in the middle of the ocean….

(no, I’m not insane, and don’t host anything here I don’t have to)

At least the beaches are nice.

oh, and you can get 100Mbps for $1000/mo. If you’re

a) on-net with Cogent, and
b) not reselling your pipe.

(this _was_ their pricing a year ago - it may not be current).

* AMD Sempron 2400
* 512 MB RAM
* 80 GB IDE HD
* 100 Mbps Unmetered
* CentOS/Fedora
* FreeBSD/Windows
* 5 IP’s
* NO SETUP FEE!

$799.99/month

I dont know how good they are but some say they are good some dont

I used to be with JHServers, and thought they were absolutely fantastic Had to leave them around a month ago though, due to selling a service based on the server.

The network seems very fast and stable. Support tickets are always answered inside 30 minutes, usually within 15 mins.

When I first applied, they didn’t have the server I wanted in stock, so they put me on a “higher” server - I received a free processor upgrade (Sempron 2400 > Pentium 4 2.6GHz). They also upgraded my RAM from 512mb to 1gb with no extra charges, after I had owned the server for over a month.

I would recommend them to anyone, and I will definately go back if I need any unmetered-bandwidth servers in the future. As you can see, I had a great experience with them Rather refreshing to see a server provider put so much effort into making their customers happy.
